JWP takes NYC

New York City... The city filled with hopes, dreams, and weird smells. Compared to many other trips to the city, this one was extra special. My mother and I arrived at Penn Station Thursday night and we went to our hotel right away to get some rest before the eventful day to come. Friday morning we headed downtown to New York University for a tour. What's so special about NYU is that they offer so many studying abroad programs, and that just really sticks out to me! If I attend college in NYC, I have confidence that a strong foundation of my film career will take off, and that's just so exciting to me!  After the tour, we rode the Subway (for the first time... ahhhh) to 5th avenue and shopped around. We even took a look at Tiffany & Co at their beautiful Christmas display. After that, we went to see Finding Neverland which hit me right at home and brought me to tears many times. Very moving play, 10/10 recommend seeing it! I even met Matthew Morrison!!!!!!!! (Mr. Shue from Glee and my low-key celebrity actor crush). Anyways, on Saturday, we took the Subway to the Upper West Side (Gossip Girl anyone?) and we looked around the gorgeous campus of Columbia University.  It is SOOOO beautiful uptown: less hectic, less crowded, more clean, amazing architecture. Columbia is definitely a dream college of mine! I'm hoping to apply to a summer program there for film. After our stroll Uptown, we went to see the Book of Mormon, some offensive parts, but mostly hilarious and great music!  Sunday morning we went to see the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular (which is a holiday tradition for the Weavers) and that truly got me in the Christmas Spirit! And now I'm on the train heading back home; I never want to leave NYC! Now it's back to the stress of high-school...

XOXO from NYC
